Binyam has over 15 years of diverse international business leadership experience, spanning private and not-for-profit sectors. His career journey includes pivotal roles at Fortune 100 companies, where he honed his expertise in driving business growth and innovation. Motivated by a belief that profit and purpose are not mutually exclusive, Binyam transitioned into the sustainable business sector, leveraging his extensive private sector skills to create meaningful impact.

Binyam’s passion for sustainability was ignited during his tenure as a Senior Advisor at B-Lab Africa through their partnership with  Global Affairs Canada. In this role, he spearheaded strategy development, market research, and funding acquisition initiatives to foster sustainability in Africa’s economy. 

Most recently, Binyam co-founded AM Power Solar, a Kenya-based renewable energy company that delivers top-tier solar energy solutions to commercial and industrial (C&I) clients. His commitment to climate action and economic development in Africa drives the company’s mission to provide reliable, sustainable, and cost-effective power solutions.
