26th November 2020: A historic global culture shift is underway to harness the power of business to help address society’s greatest challenges such as climate change, gender equality, and responsible consumption and production. The community of businesses in Mauritius and the surrounding island markets has made great strides to address these challenges and evolve the business narrative to deliver real value to customers, employees, community and the environment. Through B Lab’s B Corporation Certification and the SDG Action Manager, B Lab’s goal is to accelerate this culture shift in Africa and make it meaningful and lasting. This movement is already gaining traction in other parts of Africa and B Lab is excited to announce the establishment of an additional partnership to extend B Lab’s presence and regional representation in Mauritius and her sister islands.
Today is a great day for us at B Lab East Africa, for Dynamia our Market Builder partner, the African continent and indeed the rest of the world! It is a day we celebrate one more step advancing our efforts to topple capitalism in its traditional form. All over Africa, people are demanding better and we are excited to extend our regional representation to Mauritius and her sister islands to uplift and champion sustainable business practices.

For many years in our region, major national and international stakeholders were trying to find a way to open a ‘glocal’ collaborative ecosystem that will enable us to create the durable and sustainable island we all need.
