Explore the evidence and data behind the benefits of B Corp Certification.
56% of consumers surveyed in a recent brand awareness study in the Global North agreed that certifications for business practices help them make decisions about businesses to buy from or businesses to work for. (B Corp Brand Awareness Report, 2024)
Adding a sustainability label to a product boosted consumer demand for that product by approximately 13% for eight weeks after the addition of the label. This held true regardless of the type of product, and it was not driven by changes in pricing strategies (e.g., changes in base price, coupons, or discounts) or advertising activities (e.g., new sponsored listings (Harvard Business Review, 2025)
39% of the surveyed B Corp in Latin America report having implemented a collective action with another B Corp. (Better Together: B Corp Beauty Brands Collaborate for Improved Impact, Advocacy, and Accountability, 2025)
“When done right, sustainability bolsters financial growth and is the bedrock of a strong reputation. Up to 31% of the reputational advantage held by market leaders comes down to how they are perceived on environmental issues.” (Antithesis, 2025)
“The 2025 Sustainable Market Share Index™ finds that products marketed as sustainable are responsible for 44% of the growth in consumer packaged goods (CPGs) from 2013 to 2025, and market share growth continues year over year.” (NYU Stern, 2025)
Around the world, B Corps were significantly more likely to survive the pandemic. More than 95% of B Corps continued to operate through 2023, compared to 88% of comparable non-B Corps. (Financial Performance and Resilience of B Corps, B Lab Insights 2023)
Under B Lab’s new approach, 100% of certification decisions will be made by a third party. Specifically, for any company marketing products or services to consumers in the EU, a credible, third-party certification is no longer just a good choice — it will be a legal requirement for using a sustainability label.
