Job type: Contract

Start date: Immediately

Summary of the Role
The Business Development Associate is the primary driver of participant acquisition for the RSB
program. You will own the full sales cycle — from prospecting and outreach through to
enrollment — and will be held to clear, measurable conversion targets each cohort.
We are looking for someone who has a demonstrable track record of hitting sales or enrollment
targets in a B2B or corporate context. You must be comfortable making cold outreach, running
discovery calls, handling objections, and closing — independently and consistently. If your
experience is primarily in coordination, partnerships, or programme management without a
direct sales quota, this role is likely not the right fit.
Success in this role requires proactivity, persuasive communication, strong presentation skills,
and the resilience to manage a high-volume pipeline while maintaining quality engagement with
every prospect.
Key Responsibilities
A. Lead Generation & Pipeline Management
● Prospecting & Outreach: Identify and research potential corporate participants, SMEs,
and institutional partners across Africa that align with the RSB program’s goals.
● Inbound & Outbound Campaigns: Execute targeted outreach and follow-up strategies (via
email, LinkedIn, and phone) to turn cold leads into program applicants.
● CRM Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all leads, opportunities, and
interactions within the sales pipeline to ensure efficient tracking.
B. Sales Execution & Webinar Delivery
● Weekly Introduction Webinars: Host, present, and manage the weekly “Introduction to the
RSB Program” webinar. This includes driving registrations, tracking attendance, and
delivering high-impact presentations to pitch the program’s value proposition.
● Lead Conversion: Direct follow-up calls and meetings with prospective participants who
have attended webinars or expressed interest, addressing their questions and guiding
them through the enrollment process.
● Sales Collateral: Assist in updating and tailoring BD materials, proposals, and
presentations to resonate with different target industries and stakeholders.
C. Stakeholder Engagement & Market Insights
● Relationship Management: Act as the primary business development point of contact for
prospective participants until they are onboarded into the cohort.
● Market Feedback: Gather and synthesize feedback from prospects to help the program
team understand market needs, objections, and pricing perceptions to continuously refine
the value proposition.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
● Enrollment Targets: Meeting established conversion and recruitment targets of
prospective leads into fully registered program participants.
● Pipeline Management: Maintaining clear, timely, and consistent communication with
prospects to guide them efficiently through the enrollment process.
● Presentation Quality: Delivering clear, engaging, and professional presentations during
weekly public webinars and information sessions.
● Data Integrity: Ensuring precise and up-to-date tracking of business development
metrics, lead statuses, and engagement logs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education & Experience
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, International
Development, or a related field.
● 3–5+ years of demonstrated sales or business development experience in a B2B or
corporate context, with evidence of consistently meeting or exceeding targets. Experience
in social impact, NGO, training/consulting, or development sectors is an advantage.
● A proven track record of closing: whether deals, program enrollments, corporate
partnerships, or client contracts. We will ask you to speak to specific numbers and
outcomes in your interview.
● Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume pipeline from cold outreach through to
signed agreements.
● Experience facilitating webinars, pitching to corporate stakeholders, or public speaking in
a sales context.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
● Strong persuasive communication and negotiation skills (written and verbal) and in live
presentations.
● Confident presenting complex concepts (including sustainability) in simple, compelling
terms to senior decision-makers.
● Proactive, self-motivated mindset with a focus on hitting recruitment targets.
● Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage a high volume of leads
● Proficiency with CRM tools, email marketing platforms, and virtual presentation
platforms (Zoom, Google Workspace, etc.).
Note: The role requires the use of a personal laptop.
Contract Terms & Compensation
● Duration: July- December, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and
program funding.
● Probation Period: This position is subject to a 3-month probationary period.
● Compensation: Specific compensation details will be communicated directly to
shortlisted candidates.
