B Lab Africa launches inaugural Annual Report highlighting the surge of purpose-driven business in Africa.
The report marks the first comprehensive look at the social and environmental performance of Certified B Corporations across Africa.
The report reveals a 25% increase in certified companies over the past year, showcasing a growing appetite among African entrepreneurs to balance profit with social and environmental impact. Key highlights include a community of over 90 Certified B Corps across the continent, the launch of the Resilient Sustainable Business (RSB) program to support SMEs, and the expansion of B Lab’s presence into South Africa and Mauritius.
“This report proves that the B Corp movement is no longer a niche concept in Africa; it is becoming a standard for excellence,” says Lucy Muigai, CEO of B Lab Africa. “Our 2025 report serves as both a celebration of our progress and a call to action for more businesses to join the movement.”
